Two people were killed and two others injured in the construction zone on Interstate 24 when a motorist slammed into the back of a slowed truck Tuesday.

The accident happened near exit 105 and claimed the lives of two occupants of the van that rear ended the truck. The driver and a passenger in the same van were critically injured. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck that was hit, left the scene but has since been captured. The man, a Florida residence, James Lamar Meronvil, 56, has been charged with leaving the scene. The case remains under investigation.
