Living in peace – Police calls down

Calls for police were down slightly while citations were down significantly this past June as reported to the city council by the Tullahoma Police Department.
The monthly report as included in the informational packet for the board of mayor and aldermen compared this past June to the June of 2024 for consistency purposes. The report revealed that Tullahoma police fielded 1,751 calls for service during June 2025, a number that was down over a 100 calls from last year in the same month when there were 1,876 calls answered by officers. Along with fewer calls, there were fewer arrests as police took 142 into custody in Tullahoma this past June compared to 152 in June 2024.
Citations were down significantly this past June as there were 216 citations issued by Tullahoma police compared to 338 last year during the same month. Automobile accidents stayed basically steady as police worked 56 this past June, up two from the same month last year. Of that number, nine of the accidents had injury, up by one from June 2024.
Along with the report from the police department, the Tullahoma animal shelter also presented its statistics to the board. They revealed that 28 animals entered the shelter this past June while 18 left the shelter. There were 26 animals in foster care and the shelter ended this past June with 69 animals under their care.
