Polly Caperton Hughes, after having lived 105 years, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Bailey Manor in Winchester.  A native of Franklin County, she was born in Cowan on Aug. 5, 1919, to the late Thomas and Maude (Snelson) Caperton. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery with Andy Gay and Jerry Stewart officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Cowan Commercial Club for the beautification of Cowan.

Watson Funeral Home and Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
