GFWC donates over $13k to Horse Play and South Jackson

Horse Play, Inc. and South Jackson Performing Arts Center kicked off their summer with a donation from the GFWC Centennial Woman’s Club of Tullahoma to the tune of over $13,000 in total.
The members of the GFWC Centennial Women’s Club spent the afternoon of June 17 presenting the donation checks to both organizations. According to GFWC Centennial Woman’s Club of Tullahoma President Tanya Sheeley, the organization donated $6,600 each to Horse Play and South Jackson Performing Arts Center.
The funds for the donations were raised during the GFWC’s annual Live on the Lawn fundraiser that took place in May.
Horse Play in Tullahoma is a local non-profit providing therapeutic riding and hippotherapy program for children with special needs that is totally free for the children and their families. The organization provides free rehabilitative horseback riding opportunities for children with mental and/or physical challenges from Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln, and Moore counties.

South Jackson Performing Arts Center is maintained and operated under the South Jackson Civic Association and its executive board as a presenting organization, museum and community resource serving the counties of Coffee, Moore, Franklin, Bedford and Warren. The performing arts center contains rehearsal facilities, conference and meeting rooms, a 400-seat auditorium, full stage with proscenium arch and a local history museum, The Mitchell Museum.
