One thing that gets lost nowadays is respect and class in sports. For rising senior of the softball team Amaya Sharp, that is not the case whatsoever. 

The TSSAA awarded Sharp with the NFHS Award of Excellence for Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity. This award is presented to an individual who makes extraordinary strides in demonstrating exceptional character in their chosen athletic sport.

“She’s one of the most competitive players that I’ve ever coached and Amaya is an incredible leader,” head Coach Gary Barfield said regarding Sharp.

Sharp, along with her high character, is a player of high skill. This year she set the record for most wins in a single season with 18.
