Two questions for every parent with children in county and city public schools: Do you know what your children are being taught?  Do you know the background and ideology of their teachers and curriculum?

I was intrigued by a recent letter from the Chairman of the Coffee County Democrat Party who teaches children in our county school system.  Is there a correlation between his stated political views and what he is teaching in English class?  What ideas and books does he promote?  If he is teaching ideas consistent with the candidates and ideology he is promoting in his letter and in the community, then his teaching is out-of-step with the values held by 80% of the citizens in Coffee County.  

The local Democrats recently held a fish fry in Manchester and invited State Representatives Aftyn Behn and Gloria Johnson to speak.  What a pair. Behn was forcibly removed from the State House chambers in 2019 for shouting and disruptive behavior.  Johnson is one of the infamous Tennessee Three (with Justin Jones and Justin Pearson) who embarrassed Tennessee on a national scale with their unprofessional, unruly and childish behavior on the floor of the Tennessee State House.

Rather than promoting good ideas and good candidates for local or state offices, the Democrats have become the “opposition party,” disrupting legal processes, impeding the enforcement of law and order – all for 15 minutes of social media fame. Behn and Johnson were in Coffee County last weekend to promote the Democrats radical ideas: boys in girls’ bathrooms and sports, transgendered surgeries on children, unlimited abortion, defunding the police, support for illegal alien gangs over Tennessee citizens and Diversity/Equity/Inclusion (subversive tactics which undermine the pillars of Western Civilization).  One wonders where Behn, Johnson and local Democrats would stand on Zohran Mamdani, their pick for Mayor of New York City.  Mamdani is an outright Islamo-Communist.  He has been publicly challenged by Democrat Senator Hillebrand to denounce the phrase “globalize the Intifada,” and yet he refuses to do so.  Intifada is the Arabic word for rebellion as has been used by Hamas, Hezbollah and other violent Muslim extremists around the world to commit murder and mayhem.

The Chairman’s letter was also critical of Midnight Hammer – the incredibly successful bombing mission that destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons program – a mission that demonstrated the awesome United States Air Force and Navy and the many contributions our neighbors at AEDC have made to defend our nation from its enemies.

With whom do Democrats stand? With the United States of America and our allies or with our enemies?  Are they rooting for Iran as they have for Hamas and other state sponsored terrorist organizations in the past? 

I encourage you to be informed and engaged with the teachers and the administrators of your children’s education.  Do your children’s teachers adhere to the extremist Democrat platform, or do they love our country, cherish our Tennessee values of hard work, gratitude, personal responsibility, individual freedom, law & order, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets and human dignity.  If you discover they are promoting terrible ideas, I encourage you to contact the members of your elected School Boards and voice your concern.
