Let’s go vegan
A new study links consuming dairy to disturbing dreams and poor sleep quality. But for cows, cheese has always been a nightmare. So please, let’s go vegan.
Each chunk of brie or glob of mozzarella begins with a mother’s stolen baby. In the dairy industry, calves are torn away from their mothers within hours of birth so humans can consume the milk meant for them. This separation causes both mother and calf extreme distress—cows have been known to bellow for days. And when their milk production wanes, they are sent to slaughter.
Around 30 million American adults experience lactose intolerance, so it’s no surprise that dairy often leads to gastrointestinal symptoms—gas, bloating, and now, possibly nightmares. Why suffer through all that for bovine mammary secretions?
Almond, oat, soy, and cashew milks are delicious, healthy, and better for human health. Let’s choose options that nourish without harm.
