Madison Goad named to All-State team
GRAY DEYOSports Writer
Senior softball star Madison Goad was named to the TSWA 3A All-State team recently. She was listed alongside 14 of the most talented players the state of Tennessee has to offer.
Goad’s top-tier play throughout her final season has gained the recognition of many. She was at the top of the stat sheet on her Tullahoma team in numerous categories. She had the highest batting average (.571), highest on-base percentage (.664), home runs (22), total hits (52), and RBIs (77). This play was linked directly to the success Tullahoma had this year, ending the season with a 20-11 record. With all of this, it helped earn a spot on this team, along with helping her gain a few other awards this season.
She was listed as a nominee for Nashville area girls’ player of the week multiple times throughout the season. She was named district MVP for the second consecutive season and was named to the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association’s All-State team, alongside her teammate Kylee Holt. In mid-June she participated in the All-Star All-State game, featuring many of the players listed on both the TWSA and TSCA teams.
