Former Tullahoma player’s freshman season on the Motlow Bucks baseball team

Former Tullahoma student and Cascade High School alum, Jaxon Sheffield, just wrapped up his freshman season for Motlow College.

Sheffield put together a solid campaign in his first year of collegiate baseball. In just 25 at-bats over 19 games, he had a .280 batting average, two home runs, and nine RBIs. In pitching, he appeared in 10 games and had a 7.47 ERA. He had the highest strikeouts per nine innings (8.44) on a minimum of 10 appearances.

The Motlow baseball team overall had an underwhelming year as a team, finishing the year with a 22-23 record. Sheffield will look to help improve the team’s trajectory in his sophomore season along with other Tullahoma alum Evan Tomlin in his second year as a Buck.
