The South Jackson Performing Arts Center is making the call to the community for help in bringing back the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center.
The South Jackson Performing Arts Center announced it had made the acquisition of the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center (TFAC) back in May. In the original announcement, TFAC will operate under the South Jackson umbrella as a separate 501(c) (3) organization, and will be guided by the South Jackson Civic Association’s Board of Directors, ensuring both continuity and a unified vision for the future. According to SJPAC Chairman Greg Gressel, conversations to acquire TFAC started in November 2024 and concluded in April.
“South Jackson Performing Arts Center was thrilled to announce that we are taking over the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center—and we’ve heard how excited our community is, too,” SJPAC officials said in a statement on social media this past week. “This historic and beloved space has incredible potential, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help.”
Before the fine arts center’s doors reopen to the public, critical repairs are required to make sure the building is safe and functional for guests.
Specifically, SPJAC officials said they are seeking $51,000 in capital funds to address the following urgent needs:
• Purchasing a new HVAC system and repair existing systems
• Roof and back porch repairs
• Payment of past-due accounts and bills
• Elevator service and operation
• Outdoor painting and clean-up
• Electrical work and light fixtures
• Indoor floor repair
“Yes, it’s a lot—but with your support, it’s possible,” officials said. “Together, we can restore the Fine Arts Center as a vibrant hub for creativity and culture in our community.
Anyone who has the skills, labor or financial resources they can contribute can call the fine arts center at 931-455-1234 to offer any help they can contribute.
“Every bit brings us closer to reopening and revitalizing this community treasure,” SJPAC officials said. “Thank you for being a part of this exciting new chapter.”
