Tullahoma Mayor Lynn Sebourn will no longer serve on the Coffee County Commission. He represented District 9, and has resigned, effective June 11.

In his resignation letter, he said it had been a great pleasure to serve on the county commission for 6.5 years representing his district in Tullahoma.

“However, with my new position as Tullahoma City Mayor, the time has come for me to leave the commission and focus on serving the citizens of Tullahoma as mayor,” Sebourn said. “It has been my honor to work with you on the issues facing Coffee County and that work will continue.”

Sebourn added that it was his belief that cooperation between the city governments and the county government was critical to the good of the community and he pledged to continue working for the betterment of the county in his position as mayor.

He also thanked the Coffee County staff and his fellow elected officials.

“It has been a privilege to work with you. If you need anything from me, do not hesitate to call me. I wish you all the best.”

During his time on the county commission, Sebourn served on several county committees, including the county Budget and Finance Committee.

According to Coffee County Mayor Dennis Hunt, the vacancy will be filled by the Coffee County Commission. Anyone interested in filling the seat are asked to fill out the Citizen Participation Form which can be found by going to the Coffee County government website. Once filled out, they are to either send it to the Mayor’s office or drop it off at the mayor’s office in the Coffee County Administrative Plaza, located at 1329 McArthur St. in Manchester.
