Ben Quick and Lukas Taylor pitched in the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Showcase. The two were staples last year in Tullahoma’s bullpen, and are set to have major impacts in their senior seasons.
Ben Quick
Quick was a reliable arm for the Wildcats last season. Standing at 6’2” with a 205 lb. frame, the righty does not allow an easy plate appearance for his opponents. At the TBCA Showcase, his fastball clocked in between 85-88 MPH. He followed his heater with a 79-80 MPH change-up and a breaking ball that sat around 68-70 MPH.
The now senior righty appeared 15 times for the Wildcats. He had a 4-1 win-loss record and a 2.33 ERA–ranking as the sixth lowest on the team. Here are a couple of Quick’s best performances from the 2025 season.
Quick was a part of a no-hitter on March 14. He and Grayson Waller combined for five innings and 11 strikeouts in an 11-0 win over Franklin Road Academy. Quick was responsible for six of the 11 strikeouts, in three innings of work.
Less than a week later against Spring Hill High School, Quick was a part of another no-hitter. In six innings against the opposing Raiders, Quick pitched five innings and had six strikeouts without giving up a knock. Hunter Hogan came in, in the sixth inning and closed out the game with three strikeouts. The Wildcats won 10-0.
Quick showed off his ability to be a great reliever on April 4 against Coffee County. In a 14-0 win against the Red Raiders, he pitched the final inning of the game and struck out every batter he faced.
Lukas Taylor
Junior Tullahoma pitcher, Taylor’s, had eight appearances for the Wildcats last season. At the TBCA Showcase, he had an 87 MPH fastball and a 69-71 MPH breaking ball. Taylor, in his eight showings for Tullahoma, had a 2-1 win-loss record and a 1.52 ERA—fourth-lowest on the team. Here are some of Taylor’s best performances from his junior year.
Taylor was a pitcher the Wildcats leaned on late in the season and throughout all levels of the playoffs. In the district tournament against Central Magnet Taylor pitched one inning. He closed out the game in the fifth inning with three strikeouts and allowed one hit. Tullahoma won 12-0 on May 4.
In the regional tournament against Upperman, he pitched all seven innings. He allowed three hits, had one strikeout, and allowed one run. The Wildcats went on to win this matchup on May 9, winning 2-1.
In the state tournament on May 20, Taylor got the start in the Wildcat’s opening round against White House. He pitched 5.2 innings and had nine strikeouts. He allowed two hits and one run.
