Glen Alford Reynolds (Master Sergeant – Retired) Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Glen Alford Reynolds (Master Sergeant – Retired), age 77, of Tullahoma, announces his passing.

Glen was born on Nov. 8, 1947, to Thomas Reynolds (deceased) and Vera Mae Reynolds and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 27, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 56 years to Sylvia Kay (Smith), father to Glenda Painter (Dan), Greg Reynolds (Lori), and Adam Reynolds (Beth) and “Granddaddy” to six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who all survive. Glen is also survived by two beloved sisters, Sharon Cyree (Tony) and Fay Parks (Ken), and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 Glen entered the United States Army in 1966, receiving numerous medals and awards, before retiring in 1988. A US Army Infantry veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in multiple countries and many states (South Carolina, Washington, Louisiana, Alaska, Colorado, Georgia, Virginia, West Germany and Pennsylvania) before retiring to Tullahoma. Upon military retirement, he worked for the Utilities Department of Tullahoma before retiring from there in 2002. Glen possessed a sharp intellect, quick wit, and a strong sense of duty. He was dedicated to helping people break through their self-imposed limits and achieve more than they thought possible, unlocking their full potential. Whether as a Drill Sergeant, NCO instructor for ROTC Cadets, or a mentor to his children and grandchildren, Glen consistently encouraged others to grow and excel.

Glen found joy in outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and golf, but especially loved working in the vegetable garden with his late father. He was an avid bowler, loved playing board games and cards with family and friends. Glen also spent countless hours playing his favorite songs on his guitar.

A public visitation was held at Daves-Culbertson funeral home in Tullahoma on Friday, May 2, 2025, with a memorial service following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, DAV. Online condolences may be made at www.davesculbertsonfuneralhome.com.
