TUA to host Drinking Water Week May 6

Tullahoma Utilities Authority will host a free community event on the TUA grounds on Tuesday, May 6, to kick off its Drinking Water Week celebration.

The celebration will take place at TUA’s campus at 901 S. Jackson St. from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 6. Residents can stop by during that time for free food, prizes and games, as well as meet the TUA crew, and learn more about the work that happens underground to keep our water system running strong.

Drinking Water Week is a decades-long tradition led by the American Water Works Association. For more than 40 years, the American Water Works Association has used Drinking Water Week as an opportunity to recognize the vital role water plays in everyday life for communities and water professionals.

“Access to clean, safe drinking water is vital to our daily health, hygiene and hydration,” said American Water Works Association CEO David LaFrance. “Professionals in the water sector work tirelessly to ensure we have affordable access to the high-quality water we need to strengthen our everyday life and broader communities today and in the future.”

TUA observes Drinking Water Week by encouraging consumers to learn about how important it is to have clean, safe water and the role clean drinking water has in protecting both the public’s health and the environment, now and in the future.
