The city of Tullahoma received the gift of property this past week when the Harton Family LLC donated 9,500 square feet at Blue Creek Estates.

City Administrator Jason Quick explained that all the city had to do is accept the offer and the land, mostly road property would be absorbed by the city thanks to the gift.

“It is as you enter Blue Creek,” he explained, noting the city has maintained the property for quite a while. “This would take it off the tax roll and have it owned by the city.”

He further explained that since it is road property that the city has already maintained that there should not be anything to change once it becomes city property. He joked that the city should not delay in accepting the gift.

“I suppose someone could set up a toll road before we approve it,” Quick quipped.

The board approved acceptance of the gift.
