Vera Joyce Mayes, 89, of Huntland, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation Center.  A native of Franklin County, she was born in Estill Springs on March 20, 1936, to the late Fred and Marquerite (Statum) Whaley. 

Visitation was held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services were held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Kyle Macon officiating.  Interment followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
