Senior standout for the Wildcats baseball team, Mason Bratcher, was given the District 8 AAA pitcher of the year award.

Bratcher has been the best arm this year out of a talented Tullahoma bullpen. He capped off his final season of high school ball with an 8-0 record. He is second on the team in ERA, with a minimum of five appearances, with a 1.08 ERA.

Bratcher’s most memorable performances on the mound in 2025

 On March 18, Bratcher came two outs away from securing a perfect game. He pitched 6.1 innings of perfection, when an opposing Brighton player ended the potential historic game with a ground ball single to center field.  Despite the perfect game not coming to fruition, this still may have been the most dominant performance out of any Wildcat on the mound all year. He ended the game with the most strikeouts in a game from any Tullahoma pitcher this year, with 14. Which is good for an eye-popping 63% strikeout rate.

On April 8, Bratcher posted another lockdown performance on the mound against the second-place team in their district this year, Lawrence County. Bratcher pitched a complete game, allowed just two hits, and had five strikeouts in what ended up being a 1-0 shutout win.

On May 4, Bratcher added another shutout win to his resume. He and the Wildcats beat Central Magnet 12-0 in the District 8 AAA tournament semi-finals. Bratcher pitched four innings of no-hit baseball and had four strikeouts to go along with it.

What’s next for the senior?

Although his baseball career at Tullahoma is coming to a close, Bratcher’s days of playing baseball are just getting started. Bratcher, back in the winter, inked a deal to continue his baseball career at Lee University. The senior will bring a shutdown arm to the Flames’ bullpen, among other things.

Although Bratcher primarily gets noticed for his arm, he has other tools that can be vitalized at the college level. He finished this season with the team’s second-highest batting average at .376 and also finished second in RBIs with 38 on the season.
