Tullahoma celebrates Easter

This past weekend was filled with sunshine, candy, eggs and services as Tullahoma residents were out celebrating Easter.

Those driving on Jackson Street during near noon on Saturday, April 19, probably caught a glimpse of the members of Redemption to the Nations, formerly Ministries of Hope, making their over four mile cross walk starting from Lowes, at 2211 N. Jackson St., to the viaduct on West Carroll Street to the church at 808 S. Anderson St., next to Tullahoma Lanes. The group were escorted by the Tullahoma Police Department as they made their journey to bring awareness to Jesus Christ, his sacrifice and his resurrection.

As Redemption to the Nations passed by South Jackson Performing Arts Center (SJPAC), they saw parents and children lining up on the front lawn for the fourth annual Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt.

The egg hunt had more than plenty of eggs for everyone, as according the event’s emcee and coordinator Alderman Sernobia McGee there were about 20,000 eggs spread out across the lawn for all the 700 plus guests in attendance. McGee said the original goal was to have 10,000 eggs, and they were able to double that.

“Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers that always makes SJPAC look good,” officials said following the event. “Thank you Miss Tullahoma, Kailyn Hasty and the Easter Bunny for making special appearances.”

Along with the egg hunt, participates also had the chance to win a variety of door prizes, which included games, bicycles, Nintendo Switches and so on.
