Tullahoma soccer split two matches this week

The Tullahoma boys’ soccer team split its two games this week, winning 2-1 against St. Andrew’s High School and losing 2-1 against Marshall County.

In their match against St. Andrew’s junior Jude Smith scored both of Tullahoma’s goals.

He scored off a cross pass from Asa Smith for his first goal and then scored on a penalty kick. Both of his goals came in the first half, as the Wildcats were able to hold on for the win with solid play in the second half —something they did not do in their previous game against Franklin Christian Academy.

Against FCA the Wildcats let up two goals in the final three minutes of the game that resulted in a loss. Head coach of Tullahoma Richie Chadwick said the difference between the two games is that his team simply played a full game.

In their 2-1 loss against Marshall County Tullahoma’s lone goal was scored by Smith off of a follow-up shot.

The JV team was also in action during the week against St, Andrew’s and Marshall County. They beat St. Andrew’s 1-0 and beat Marshall County 3-1.

The varsity Tullahoma team will be back in action on April. 4 against Franklin County High School.
