Elsie Joan Sanders Obituary

Elsie Joan Sanders entered eternal life Feb. 28, 2025 at the age of 99 years. Born in England July 17, 1925, her family soon moved to Alberta, Canada where they homesteaded. Joan grew up there and became the oldest of five siblings. In Alberta, she met her love, an American soldier Dale Sanders and married in 1946. Soon after they moved south to Tennessee and ultimately settled in Tullahoma.

Joan was a loving and devoted wife and mother to children Beverly and Darryl. She eventually pursued a nursing career where her warmth and compassion touched many at Harton Hospital. She did find time for her passion of flowers as reflected in the many flower beds in her yard and the beautiful floral arrangements she created for her church. Her strong faith inspired a caring and generous spirit, especially among fellow church. She lived her life to the fullest and will leave a legacy of love, compassion and her beautiful smile.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alice (Holland) Morris; her siblings, Evelyn (Morris) Jaworski, Raymond Morris and Reginald Morris; and her husband, L. Dale Sanders. She is survived by her children Beverly and Darryl Sanders, her sister Linda Glabush and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. Service at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m.
