GRAY DEYOSports Writer
With the high school baseball season fast approaching, the state champion Tullahoma Wildcats have been in the midst of preseason ball. They took on Moore County on Feb.18 and won the game 10-2.
Wildcats Andrew Zebick and Grayson Walker had mound duties against the opposing Raiders. They held them to just five hits in the contest and shut them out through the first five innings of the game. The two Tullahoma pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts—Zebick with six and Waller with five—as the duo appeared to be in great form for the upcoming season.
Tullahoma’s offense took off in the fourth inning where they scored four runs. Wildcats Hunter Hogan and Trevor Cole both struck a pair of singles, scoring in three of the four runs in the inning, with the other run being scored by ground ball RBI by Wildcat Baylan Tueten. Cole finished his day as Tullahoma’s hit leader with three hits, while Tuten led the team in RBIs with three
The lead the Wildcats gained from the fourth gave them all they needed to beat Moore County in this preseason matchup.
The Wildcats will start their regular season against Oakland High School on Mar. 3.
