William Cox honored with Quilt of Valor
William M. Cox Jr. was honored with the Quilt of Valor of his service in the Vietnam era in the United States Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Koelsch (DE-1049) which stands for Destroyer Escort. The motto of this ship was valor and versatility.
He was trained as an Electronics Technician in San Diego and San Francisco, Calif. He was based out of Newport, R.I. and served in the Atlantic Fleet. He received the National Defense Medal.
He returned home and employed at Arnold Engineering Development Complex. His wife Jan, pictured, and many friends and soldiers who served shared this moment of honor with him. Welcome home!
