An Indiana man faces child exploitation charges after he allegedly traveled to Tullahoma to meet a girl he had been chatting online with.

The suspect, Richard E. Clark, 61, is charged with exploitation of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.

Clark was arrested after Tullahoma police were summoned to Jefferson Street to investigate a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived they found Clark asleep behind the wheel of his car which was running and parked in the roadway. Police then tapped on the window and woke the sleeping suspect.

“I asked him what he was doing,” the officer recalled. “He told me that he had driven from Indiana to meet up with a girl he had been messaging on Snap who was supposed to live on Jefferson.”

When asked if the girl was of legal age, Clark reportedly said he believed she was 24. Police then asked to search his car and his person. They then found two meth pipes and four bags containing what is believed to be meth residue. They then turned to his phone.

“During the search (of his phone) several clear images and videos of female juveniles performing sexual activities and undressing were located,” the officer revealed in the warrant against Clark.

The officer pointed out that Clark answered all questions asked except when asked about the juvenile images. It was not revealed if the girl he had drove to Indiana to meet was underage or was 24 as he claimed.
