The Tullahoma wrestling team competed in the Individual Sectional Tournament over the weekend and sent nine wrestlers to the Individual State Tournament. This comes after making it through another cut from regionals the week before.

Out of the nine wrestlers that qualified for state for THS, four of them placed first in their weight division–Bob Tatum, Kiivon Butler, Zachary Murphy, and Corbin Avans. The four Wildcats the week before, also all placed first in the individual regional event, helping the THS team score the most points out of any team at regions. This week their efforts helped, again but the Wildcats wrestling squad fell a half a point short of being the team points leader at sectionals.

The remaining five wrestlers locked in their spots in the state competition with second and third-place finishes–Sayvion Surles third, Nolan Stroop third, Sylas McGowen third, Carson Avans second, and Kameron Stafford second. 

The THS wrestling team will travel to the Williamson County Expo Center in Franklin, TN this Thursday, and they will compete both on Friday and Saturday. Go support our boys this weekend, as they all look to bring back an individual state title to Tullahoma.
