The Powerful Woman
K
As a woman who lives in a country that allows us to pray anywhere and anytime we please we must be aware of how truly powerful we are! We so often allow our power to be stolen by the enemy through the lies we create in our own thoughts. I was reminded this weekend just how much of my power I was releasing to the enemy by allowing fear to consume me. I realized these last few days that in this specific time on earth we are not dealing with flesh and blood – we are dealing with the darkness and spiritual wickedness as described in Ephesians. We as women must stop allowing this darkness to overshadow the power we have. We must step up and take charge over our own homes anointing and casting out all assignments the enemy has against our children, husband and ourselves. This led me to study the Proverbs 31 woman. We don’t know her name which is symbolic to me because any of us can embody her if only we put in the work. What are some characteristics she has that I want to be more like? Let’s take a closer look at those that stood out to me the most.
- First and foremost, the Proverbs 31 woman is obedient. When life’s challenges come along do you stay obedient to God’s truths or do you waiver and fall victim to fear? Being obedient is more than cracking your Bible. Obedience is showing up even when you don’t want to, praying those bold fall to your knees prayers when you can’t even seem to catch your breath and continuously being the hands and feet of Jesus even when you can’t help yourself.
- Second, a Proverbs 31 woman is trustworthy. Do you keep your promises? Do you fervently pray over your family, friends and those in need when asked? At the end of the day keeping your word to those you love is what continues to bring blessings upon your life and continues to grow that power within you!
- Last but certainty not least, the Proverbs 31 woman celebrates others! Can you imagine the mountains that can be moved if only women celebrated the victories of each other? I can’t even fathom the darkness, illnesses, disease, demonic spirits, fear, depression and anxiety we could cast down if only we joined forces as women. Recognizing others talents, celebrating their successes, praying over each other and searching for ways to help those who are struggling is the key to igniting the power we all have within!
Ladies, the battle is won on our knees crying out to our Lord and interceding on behalf of our children, husband, family and friends. We no longer have the choice to be relaxed about our faith this day in age – we must be bold! I can promise you that breakthrough will happen if you strive each day to be more like Jesus and less like the ways of the world. I encourage you this week to read more about the characteristics of this virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. Take authority and declare today that the enemy can’t have our children, he can’t have our spouses, he can’t have our homes, he can’t have our businesses and more importantly he can no longer hold us captive to his lies. It is time us women show the enemy just how POWERFUL we are!
“Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:31
