After having a first-quarter lead against Rockvale, the Lady Bobcats could not hold on to it, losing 44-24 against the Lady Ravens.

West played solid defense in the first quarter holding the opposing Lady Ravens to just seven points in the quarter, as they had a 9-7 advantage headed in the second period. However, the solid defense they showcased shattered as the Lady Ravens went on to outscore the Lady Bobcats 37-15 for the remainder of the contest. Rockvale players, Addyson Lyon and Marissa King helped heavily in their win over West. Lyon finished with a game-high 16 points and King finished with 10.

Combating the strong performances from the two Rockvale players, Lady Bobcats–Aubrey Bunn and Makayla Staton–both had strong performances of their own despite the loss.

Bunn led the ‘Cats in scoring, finishing the game with a team-high eight points. She did most of her damage in attacking the basket, as she found her way to the free throw line four times, scoring four of her eighth points from the charity stripe. Staton finished one point behind Bunn with seven points, as she scored a bucket in all four quarters.

The Lady Bobcats season is coming to a close rapidly, with only two games remaining on their regular season schedule. They will look to end the season strong, with their two remaining games coming this week–Jan. 13 against E.A Cox Middle School and on Jan. 16 against Moore County Middle School.
