West boys basketball lose to Ravens
GRAY DEYOSports Writer
West was in a tightly contested game all night against Rockvale but some gritty Raven defense and some late-game shooting woes by the Bobcats were the difference in them getting a loss on their schedule rather than a win—losing the contest 44-32.
The Bobcats were shut down in the second half and shut out in the fourth quarter. They scored five points in the final two periods with all five coming in the third period. They were in just a three-point game trailing 35-32, headed into the fourth but simply could not find the bottom of the net to turn the tide of the game in their favor.
Price Harden had a huge performance for West, scoring a game-high 18 points. He scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half, which helped his team to a first-half lead of 27-23. Harden and many other Bobcats have shown their potential this year and how they can one day help head coach of Tullahoma Jason Welch’s program, who currently boast a record of 15-2. They are currently having one of the best regular seasons they’ve had in over a decade and to see that more talent is on the way, especially with some vital players on their way out, is super encouraging.
West will look to get back in the win column on Jan. 13 when they take on E.A Cox Middle School.
