The four-year libero for the Wildcats’ volleyball team, Olivia Spencer, has decided to continue her playing career at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Spencer helped Tullahoma hit the double-digit mark in the win department in all of her four years as a Wildcat.
The 2025 graduate also earned the captain’s patch for her fourth and final season, and she was clearly more than deserving of it.
“Olivia doesn’t shy away from hard work; she embraces it. She embraces it both on the court and in the classroom,” head coach of the Tullahoma volleyball team Dan Lynch said regarding what makes Spencer a great leader.
“She is a vocal leader for sure, but she is also a role model leading by example. She’s a National Honor Society member with a 4.2 GPA and was voted All-District by the coaches of our district this season. What makes her a great leader is that she shows up and works hard. What makes her successful is she sets a goal, makes a plan, and works the plan.”
Spencer was a four-year starter for the Wildcats and was dominant in what she did on the floor. Lynch regards her as a defensive specialist. She finished her last three seasons as the team leader in digs and finished her career for Tullahoma with a total of 1,080 digs. She was also the team’s best server over the past three seasons, as she led the Wildcats in aces over the three-year span, and finished her career with a total 240 career aces. Her time wearing a Wildcat uniform will be missed by her teammates, her fans, and especially by coach Lynch.
“Olivia is a highly skilled player who we will obviously miss having on the court, but mostly I’ll miss the energy she brought to our team. Whether it is in a match, at practice, on the sideline supporting her teammates, or cheering on the JV team, Olivia brings the energy to help her teammates get better every day,” Coach Lynch said regarding what he will miss about Spencer.
She will take both her ability to rally her teammates together and her talents as a player, on the just over eight-hour car ride from THS to the Bobcats campus in West Virginia. The WWC volleyball team is coming off of their best season in four years with a record of 15-15 and they will undoubtedly only get better with the addition of Spencer.
