Marie Southern Obituary
Marie Southern, 93, of Greenwood, Arkansas, formerly of Tullahoma passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, in her home.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1930, in Normandy to Cecil D. and Pauline Drucilla (Frye) Roulett. She retired from the Tennessee Apparel Company and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Tullahoma.
She read her bible every day and won numerous blue ribbons at the county fair for her crochet items.
She is survived by one daughter, Gayla Sharon Hicks and husband, James Joe of Greenwood; two sisters, Charlotte Campbell and husband, Albert of Huntsville, Alabama and Tammie Carter of Manchester; four grandchildren, Matthew Hicks, Mitchell Hicks, Lucas Southern and Luanne Southern; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Southern, two sons, Danny Lee Southern and Steven Paul Southern and two sisters, Vivan Shumake and Emma Broadrick.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at noon at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Normandy.
