TUA to begin electric metering upgrades
Tullahoma Utilities Authority (TUA) is excited to announce that it will be kicking off 2025 with a significant improvement for its customers by upgrading its electric meters.
Starting in January, TUA will begin upgrading electric meters across the service area, beginning in the Emerald Meadows neighborhood.
“This project is a key step in achieving one of our strategic initiatives: upgrading our customer experience,” TUA President Allen Potter said.

These new electric meters are part of an ongoing commitment to providing the best possible service. The upgrades will bring several benefits to customers’ homes and to the community:
• Improved Outage Response: The new meters will automatically notify us of power outages, allowing us to respond faster and more efficiently.
• Future Features for Customers: In the future, you’ll have tools to monitor your daily energy use online, helping you make informed decisions about your energy consumption.
• Real-Time Energy Usage Insights: Enables customers to monitor and manage their energy consumption through online tools.
• Customizable Alerts: Allows customers to set notifications for high usage or billing thresholds.
• Enhanced Grid Reliability: Provides data for better demand management and system performance.
• Remote Monitoring and Control: Enables utilities to connect, disconnect, or troubleshoot meters remotely.

What to expect during the upgrade
Here’s what will happen:
1. Advance Notification: We’ll notify you by phone before we arrive in your neighborhood. Please make sure your contact information is up to date by calling TUA customer service at 931-455-4515.
2. Quick Installation: A TUA technician will install the new meter, with power interruptions lasting no more than five minutes in most cases.
3. Ongoing Updates: Follow TUA LightTube on Facebook to stay updated throughout the process.
The upgrades will begin in Emerald Meadows this January and will continue across Tullahoma throughout the year.
