Naomi Foster Pitts Tramel of Tullahoma passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, peacefully in her sleep at home, at the age of 86.
Naomi was born in Jan. 14, 1938 in Tullahoma to the late Christopher Columbus Foster and Lucille Gann Foster. She was the youngest of ten children, and was the last living member of that family. She was a member of Wesley Heights Methodist Church, where she served as the church secretary for many years. Naomi was an active member of the United Methodist Women’s Group, as well as a Harton Hospital Auxiliary volunteer for numerous years, where she previously held the offices of both president and treasurer. She was a wonderful cook, and took much pride in the finished product. Naomi was selflessly devoted to tending to her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Pitts; and her son, Gregory Alan Pitts Tramel. Naomi is survived by two daughters, Teri Gallagher (Andrew), and Mary Ann Teal (Jim); one son, David Tramel (Roxanne); six grandchildren, Hannah, Madeline, and Abigail Gallagher, Samantha Bell (CJ), Jim Teal (Erica), and Caryn Tramel; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Silas Bell.
Visitation for Ms. Tramel will be held on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 from noon-1:30 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery with Revs. Jim Fields and Shebbie Shields officiating. For those who wish, the family asks that donations in Naomi’s memory be made to either Wesley Heights Methodist Church, or The Tullahoma Animal Shelter.
