Those who attended last year can attest that the Tullahoma Day Care Center’s Holiday Tour of Homes and Silent Auction is one holiday event not to be missed.
Hosted by the Tullahoma Day Care Center Board, the Tour of Homes and Silent Auction is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Dec. 8, and will include five beautiful homes this year.
The home tours are 1 – 5 p.m. and the Silent Auction is 12:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center. As always, one can expect the silent auction to have an abundance of holiday décor, Christmas ornaments, weekend getaways, event tickets, gift certificates from area businesses, curated gift baskets and tons of other items up for grabs that are sure to make perfect gifts.
Dori Henninger, president of the TDCC Board, said she’s looking forward to this year’s event, and invites everyone to come out in support of a good cause.
“Many people in the community get excited for the Holiday Tour of Homes,” Henninger said. “The TDCC has arranged for five amazing homes to be on the tour and we’re so grateful to those who have opened their homes to us and all those who will visit as part of the event.”
“We will once again have the silent auction in partnership with South Jackson Performing Arts Center, to include the Trees of Christmas on the tour,” she continued. “If you make plans to go, you are guaranteed a fun afternoon and a perfect start to the holiday season. Plus, all ticket sales benefit the important work of Tullahoma Day Care Center and the families we serve.”
This year’s the tour includes two homes in Setters Point with views of Lake Tullahoma, belonging to Donna and Wayne Burfitt, and Jim and Lisa Henry. There’s also the Williams’ home on Country Club Drive, which was built in the 1970s then remodeled to fit the couple’s lifestyle. Beth and Andrew Kenworthy’s home on Short Springs Road is on a beautiful, wooded lot and showcases a local artist’s works. Another is a historic home belonging to Jeannie and John Bowden. Built in 1901, the Bowden’s home was owned by one of Tullahoma’s founding families, and over the years it has been restored and expanded.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at www.tullahomadaycare.com or by stopping in at one of the following local businesses: Yellow Tulip Design, T Michelle Clothier, Traders Bank, Smart Bank, Clayton’s Shoe Store and the Flower Shoppe. The ticket price also includes a visit to see the Trees of Christmas at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center.
