Tullahoma Wrestling opens with a bang
GRAY DEYOSports Writer
The success the Tullahoma wrestling program showcased at the Blackman Early bird preseason event on Nov. 16, bled into their dominant performance Thursday night against Lebanon and Moore County.
Tullahoma won against Lebanon 62-15 and shutout Moore winning 81-0.
The first three on the mat for Tullahoma—Zachary Murphy, Nolan Stroop, and Grayson Hartman opened the floodgates for the Wildcats against Lebanon. They all won their matches and gave them a 15-0 lead that set the tone for the remainder of the match.
Zachary Anderson, Chandler Kile, and Carson Avans rattled off three wins by pins in a row for the Wildcats, giving Lebanon little hope of getting back into the match. Kiivon Butler, Memphis Oswald, and Sayvion Surles also all won by pins against Lebanon. In the Wildcats’ match against Moore, where they won 81-0, Sylas McGowen, Carson Avans, Surles, Oswald, Butler, Lukas Agnell, and Zachary Murphy all won their matches in their respective weight classes by pins.
The Wildcats will look to carry their dominant form on their trip to Lebanon on Dec. 3 when they take on Good Pasture and Wilson Central High School.
The results from the girls’ matches were not available at press time.
