Changes made in Wildcats’ football region

With the TSSAA announcing new region pools for the 2025 school year, two schools the Wildcats have played regularly have been affected.
The one-point loss Tullahoma took at the end of their regular season to snap a four-game winning streak, might be the last page in the storybook of their regional rivalry with Shelbyville. The TSSAA announced that the Eagles will be moved to 6A football, and will move into a region with the likes of Franklin, Ravenwood, Independence, Summit, and Brentwood High School.
Shelbyville and Tullahoma were only in the same region for two years, after the Wildcats moved up from 4A to 5A ball in the 2022-2023 season. In the two games the teams played against each other in the 5-5A region, the Eagles won both games—winning 34-14 and 28-27.
Tullahoma’s long-time rival Coffee County may also be on the move in 2025. The TSSAA announced that they too would be getting put in the same region that Shelbyville is headed to, but it seems that the Red Raiders will try to land in a different region than the one the TSSAA has designated them to.
The Red Raiders currently reside in the 3-6A region. They will try to appeal the TSSAA’s announcement for them to join Shelbyville in the 6-6A region, and instead join the 4-6A Region that is home to Green Hill, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin, Cookeville, Wilson, and Lebanon High School.
