Agreement reached with Silicon Ranch
R
The Metro Lynchburg Moore County Planning and Zoning Chairman Dexter Golden announced at the most recent meeting that an agreement has been reached with Silicon Ranch regarding permit fees. Negotiations on this have held the project at a standstill for over a year now.
No details of the agreement were disclosed and Chairman Golden added that the legal teams were meeting to finalize the contract. He said that Silicon Ranch will be making a presentation at the Nov. 18 Metro Council meeting. Part of the presentation will include the site plan requested by the council.
Moore County will be hiring Josh Ezell, engineer, to monitor and inspect the building of the substation. Multiple inspections will be required as the project will progress in phases. They will also hire Tony Grow, environmentalist, to monitor the project as well. Though Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, (TDEC), will oversee the project for environmental concerns, Tony will be Moore County’s direct eyes on the project. Both men will be paid from permit fees collected from Silicon Ranch.
The Metro Council is expected to pass the permit fee agreement. With the agreement in place, building on the project may now begin.
