No charges in fatal crash

There will be no charges in connection with the tragic death of Tullahoma High School junior Brodie Minor as the Tennessee Highway Patrol found no evidence of wrongdoing in the fatal accident this past week.

In its preliminary report, the THP found that the teen did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Stone Boulevard and Ridgelawn Place just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 7 and entered the path of an oncoming 2024 Nissan Altima driven by Jacob R. Neal, 32. The car then collided with Minor’s Baja mini-motorcycle.

Classmates continue to mourn the loss of the well-loved wrestling standout and held a candlelight vigil Wednesday at the high school. The Minor family put out their thanks for the outpouring of love on social media. Their statement included:

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to our family. We have a very long road ahead but he is with us through it all. To those who have children, it doesn’t matter if they are 2 or 50, please hug them tight. Brodie was so special to everyone who he came in contact with and he was always smiling. He was the same Brodie at home as well, always cracking jokes, always smiling and laughing. Those laughs now echo down my halls and it’s the only thing holding this home together and keeping it from crumbling at the foundation. The 16 years we had with him were enough to fill this lifetime and many more to come. We as parents who have lost a child are now part of an “exclusive club” who now have to wander through life searching for answers we will never receive. Brodie never wanted to be sad in any situation so it makes the grieving process even harder. I wish I could fast forward to the smiling and laughing part. To all my wrestling family, please put all you got on the mat this upcoming season and carry on his legacy exactly as he would of wanted. We love all of you and so did he. I will continue to be that loud dad on the side of the mat.”
