Middle School ‘Cats medal

The Tullahoma Middle School cross country team ran in the Midstate Cross Country Association Championship last week and came away with a pair of medals.

Lincoln Bitton and Ashleigh Johnson were the Tullahoma medalists. Bitton finished third out of 233 boys with a new personal best time of 11 minutes and 25.96 seconds. Johnson finished at 22 out of 231 with a new personal best of 13:57.55.

The Wildcats finished 18 out of 28 teams and the Lady ‘Cats were 12 out of 21. Bitton and Johnson were not the only TMS Cross Country members to set new personal bests, 12 other runners set new ones. James Davenport set a new PR with a time of 15:39.20. Owen Sohrabi’s new PR is 15:50.72. Brooks Bennett had a time of 16:07.83 for a new PR. Jameson Szemodis set a new PR at 16:27.51, Izayiah Johnson has a new one at 18:29.27 and Kai Hayashi set a new one at 19:36.45. Claire Hyden finished at 31 with a new personal record of 14:27.10. Natalie Davis set a new PR with a time of 16:12.96. Kahmya Dixon, Rose Duval, Eden Marsh and Phoenix Fisher also set new PRs. Dixon had a time of 19:01.14, Duval with a time of 19:10.15, Marsh at 20:18.80 and Fisher with a time of 20:41.69.

The TMS Cross Country team’s next meet is the Henry Horton State Park Meet on Sep. 19.
