‘Hot Shots’ score big for Sunrise Rotary

R

Tullahoma Sunrise Rotary’s annual “Hot Shots” fundraiser was bigger than ever this year. Thirty-seven shooters participated, the most in the club’s four-year history of the event. Over $1,200 was raised for the club’s Creating Educational Opportunities (CEO) and other community projects.

Club members manned the sign in desk and scored targets for the event. Members Jim Lane and Roy Eckerd served as Rangemasters. This year the top three scores were within 10 points of each other, with first place scoring 480, second place scoring 478, and third place scoring 470 out of a possible high score of 500.

Shooters of all abilities took to the range. There was some friendly husband/wife and sisterly competition going on. Those less experienced, assisted by Rangemasters Jim Lane and Roy Eckerd, benefited by learning some shooting and safety tips. There were even some first time shooters participating.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the good spirited competition. Most vowed to practice up before next year’s competition. It really doesn’t matter; all shooters are welcome. In the end it’s all for a good cause.
