Virginia Nell Branch Obituary

Virginia Nell Branch, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at NHC of Tullahoma.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1938, to the late Asbury David and Minnie Leola (Young) Moore. Before her retirement, Virginia had worked in the cafeteria at Lynchburg Elementary School, a job she dearly loved for sixteen years.  She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, traveling (especially to Gatlinburg), and shopping.  But she was happiest when she was spending time with her beloved family. A devoted Christian lady, she was a member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church for sixty-seven years.  Virginia’s wonderful personality and sense of humor, as well as her loving and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Branch; brother, James Moore; sister, Delarce Neal; and great-granddaughter, Allie Claire Duncan.

Virginia is survived by her loving daughters, Debbie (Raburn) Smith and Rita (Mark) Watkins, both of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Beanna (Scott) Duncan of Tullahoma, Kyle (Abby) Smith of Lynchburg, and Kristen Smith of Lynchburg; great-grandchildren, Anne Duncan, Ava Duncan, Adalyn Duncan, Kurt Smith, Owen Smith, Olivia Smith, and Ari Wright; and sister, Ruby (Kip) Baker of Lynchburg.

Visitation will be from 5:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.  Funeral Services will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 23 in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 181 Majors Boulevard, Lynchburg, TN 37352, (931)-759-4552, www.jenningsmoorecortner.com.
