Alan Clark runs for FC Commission
Alan Clark is announcing his candidacy for the office of Franklin County Commissioner District 7, Seat A Unexpired Term to be voted on in the general election, which will be held on the 5th day of November 2024.
“It is my honor to place my name on the ballot for Franklin County Commissioner in District 7. As a 25-year resident by choice of Franklin County, I have had the opportunity to create many lasting friendships. I am humbly asking the good hard-working people of District 7 for their vote on November 5.”
Clark is a retired full Colonel of the U.S. Army with 28 years of service, during which time he served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and on Active Duty with the Army as an artillery officer. He was the Executive Officer and Chief of Staff to the 181st Field Artillery Regiment during the Persian Gulf War, and later commanded the battalion for three years. He was awarded the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star, and is a member of the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of the field artillery branch.
He holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and spent 19 years in education at all levels, from kindergarten to graduate school, public and private systems, both military and civilian. From 2006 until his retirement in 2016, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Franklin County Schools.
A Rotarian since 1984, he was selected to serve as Rotary International District 6780 District Governor from 2022-2023, made up of 62 Rotary Clubs with 3,000 members.
