Gitta K. Trapp, of Tullahoma, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 79.

Ms. Trapp was born in Karthaus, Germany to the late Boris and Adele Keltjanow. During her life she worked as the Office Manager at Liberty National, where she retired after 28 years, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Tullahoma. Ms. Trapp was also a volunteer at the VFW, the Red Cross, and the Senior Citizen’s Center. Many knew Gitta as “Honey”, as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her. She never met a stranger, and was love by all. Gitta loved to travel. She had been on 13 cruises to 77 ports, and 44 countries. She also loved swimming, swing dancing, crocheting, and cooking German foods for her family to enjoy. 

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jon) Solomon; grandchildren, Ashley (Richard) Jones and Josh Steverson; great-grandchildren, Narissa Steverson and Bentlee Steverson; numerous cousins; her special friend, Jerry Harrell; and many cousins back in Germany.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marty Nutter officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Gitta’s memory be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 101 Bragg Circle, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
