Joseph Clifton (Cliff) Thompson Jr. 80, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his residence.  He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Thompson Sr., mother, Elizabeth King Thompson, his first wife, Shirley Thompson and an infant daughter.

Cliff was born in Raleigh, NC, grew up in St. Paul, NC, graduated high school in Sandy Utah and received his AS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fayetteville State University, (then Fayetteville Tech).  He knew he wanted to be an engineer at an early age and pursued and excelled in that career in which he traveled internationally.  He also served in the Army National Guard and U. S. Army from 1963 to 1969. He lived in Newport News and Hampton, VA then Lakeland, FL during most of his career where he worked primarily with Jacobs Engineering and Penn Pro.  He was also an avid fisherman. He and Judy moved to Vonore, TN after retirement in 2010, then to Tullahoma in January of this year to be near his daughter and family

He is survived by his wife, Judy Thompson, daughter, Lisa Thompson Mason (Russ) of Winchester, son, Jason Michael Thompson (Tina) of Melbourne, FL, six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with is Family.
