Willie Mae “Bill” Crutchfield Obituary
Mrs. Willie Mae “Bill” Crutchfield, devoted Christian and community pillar, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at her beloved home peacefully at the age of 96. She was born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Estill Springs to the late Will Maupin and Alease Coulter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James A. Crutchfield, Sr., and two daughters, Deborah Crutchfield and Della Sharp.
She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tullahoma where she served as a Mother, Usher, Women of Zion, and Mission Board. She received her education from Davidson Academy, Tennessee A & I, and Motlow State Community College. She retired from Tullahoma Daycare Center after 27 years and later worked for 14 years at Walmart Supercenter in Tullahoma.
She is survived by her children, Rev. James A. (Sonja) Crutchfield, Jr., Emma (Jimmy) Coleman, Odell (Tracy) Crutchfield, Toni London, and Frank (Norma) Crutchfield; grandchildren, Quincy Crutchfield, Tonisha (Marcus) Taylor, Alexine (Donnis) Boochie, Candace Crutchfield, Ashley (Caleb) Quill, Allyssa (Desmond) Zollicoffer, Frankie Crutchfield, Michael Sharp, Jasmine Coleman, Jimmy Coleman Jr., Jacob (Whitney) London, Joseph (Jessica) London, Alexis Crutchfield, and Jocelyn (Andrew) LaPenna; 18-great-grandchildren; Honorary Grandchildren: Ryanne Lee and Azaria Robinson; Special friends and family: Beadie Keith, Louvenia Hayes, Donna Hamilton, Barbara Estill, Euralene Sheffield, Clara Smith, Karen Jackson, and Michelle Northcutt; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She will lie in state on Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. – noon, with visitation with the family from noon – 1 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated by Rev. James Johnson, with the eulogy delivered by her son, Rev. James A. Crutchfield, Jr.
