Woman leads police on high speed chase

A Franklin County woman faces felony assault and evading charges after she allegedly led police on a chase through Tullahoma, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour before crashing her car.
The suspect, Adrianna Kathleen Herbrand, 24, reportedly told police she fled at the high speed due to being scared because she had never been to jail before. She also reportedly admitted to having too much to drink, her statement backed up by several small liquor bottles police say they found inside her vehicle.
The pursuit began near Little Caesars on Jackson when police responded to investigate a domestic violence call. When they arrived in the area they spotted Herbrand’s Nissan. However, she fled as police neared, almost striking a police cruiser while trying to escape the area. She then picked up speed as she hit Carroll and Jackson.
“The white Nissan Sentra was paced traveling 105 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone,” police said in their report on the pursuit, noting she almost hit another car before losing control and crashing herself.
It was during a subsequent investigation that police learned she had allegedly tried to hit her boyfriend with her vehicle earlier during a domestic dispute.
“He (the domestic assault victim) said she was chasing him through the grass in her vehicle attempting to strike him,” police reported of his statement. “He advised he had to dive between vehicles.”
Herbrand was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment with a vehicle, aggravated assault, DUI, driving with a suspended license, evading arrest, speeding, drivers to exercise due care, having an open container and expired registration. She has been served with a restraining order, directing her not to contact the victim.
