With summer here and Humble Baron, on the campus of Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville, will be hosting a variety of outdoor events at The World’s Longest Bar to enjoy the warm weather.

For Father’s Day, Nearest Green Distillery welcomed fathers and their families to a relaxing day on the grounds of Sand Creek Farm BBQ and drinks, outdoor lawn games, tours and special tastings at Nearest Green, a free engraving with a purchase of a bottle, live music on the outdoor stage and giveaways.

Then, on June 20 and 27, it will be time to kick up the heels and join in at Humble Baron’s Country Line Dancing nights. With lessons by dance instructor Justin Lee, attendees can enjoy an evening of dancing, community and entertainment.

Also happening on June 20 will be a special performance of HunterGirl, runner-up of the 20th season of “American Idol”, to celebrate the release of her debut EP “Tennessee Girl” before hitting the road with country music star Luke Bryan. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and show time will be at 7 p.m. General admission available via Eventbrite on a first-come, first-serve seating.

Then, Humble Baron will be taking the festivities up a notch with a special Pre-Fourth of July event on July 4, from noon to 7 p.m. for a fun-filled family day before the fireworks kick off featuring:

  • Outdoor entertainment and activities, including games, face painting, cotton candy, delicious food, and refreshing drinks.
  • Barrel House Barbeque will be offering a mouth-watering barbecue package designed to feed 6 to 8 people – perfect for those who prefer to relax and not cook on this festive day.

Wrapping up the summer festivities at Humble Baron will be its Sunsets At Sand Creek summer concert series.

“Set to take place on the outdoor stage and lawn of Humble Baron, this series promises to be a highlight of the summer season, featuring free concerts by talented local artists every Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.,” Humble Baron representatives said.

The concert series kicks off on Friday, July 5, and will continue through the last Friday in August. Attendees can enjoy live music in a beautiful outdoor setting along with delicious southern fare from Barrel House Barbeque, Uncle Nearest Frozen cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages inspired by Arrington’s popular Frose drink.

“Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and enjoy summer sunsets with a side of live music,” officials said.
