Moore County celebrates Frontier Day weekend

A

Locals and visitors gathered in the square of Lynchburg for a fun time celebrating Frontier Day this past weekend.

The event lasted two days, with all sorts of entertainment from vendor tents and the Steak Cook-off World Championship qualifier to a classic car cruise-in and a concert featuring Lynchburg’s very own Caitlyn Wolaver.

Additionally, there was an auction, music by Billy Tarkington, a Box of Rox concert and numerous kids activities, including a parade and mini-tractor pull, took place. Also, the event held its first ever MoonPie eating contest and skillet throwing competition. There were also numerous contests ranging from baked goods, sewing, wood working and photography to quilting, canned goods and florals

Overall, the event captured the classic Southern hometown feel that Lynchburg is known for, and ended with an impressive display of fireworks.
