National Day of Prayer is Thursday
The Coffee County National Day of Prayer ceremony will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., on May 2 at the Courthouse Square in Manchester.
The ceremony will cover county in prayer in areas of business, military, churches, education, government, media and families.
Those planning to attend are welcomed to bring a folding chair.
This year’s national theme for the 73rd annual National Day of Prayer is LIFT UP THE WORD – LIGHT UP THE WORLD
“For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. – 2 Samuel 22:29-31.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance designated by the United States Congress and held on the first Thursday of May, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation”.
