Ruth Marie “Goggle” Long Green, 78, of Cowan, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at her residence.  A native of Franklin County, she was born in Sewanee on June 21, 1945, to the late Joseph B. and Ruth (Roach) Long.  Before her retirement, she was employed at the University of the South.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Guiear, Lula Bell Johnson, and Joe B. Long. Ruth Marie is survived by her Lucille Terrill of Monteagle; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

A graveside service was held Monday, May 13 at Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee.

Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
