A man faces animal cruelty charges after he allegedly duct taped the legs and mouth of a dog.
The suspect, Isaiah Clark, 30, is charged with cruelty to animals, evading arrest and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
He was charged after Tullahoma police arrived at Tullahoma Village to investigate the report of a dog being mistreated. While on the scene looking into the incident, Clark reportedly tried to run.
“He jumped out a rear window and began to run away,” the police report revealed, noting Clark then ran into another residence and was ordered to surrender.
When police got him out of the residence they found drug paraphernalia on his person. They then saw something in his mouth.
“It was observed the subject try to eat a small clear baggy,” the police report said. “Officers were able to retrieve the baggy and discovered it contained a white powdery substance.”
As for the dog that had its muzzle and legs duct taped, police said it appeared to not be injured.
“The dog appeared to be healthy but very skittish and timid,” police reported. There was no reason given as to why the suspect allegedly duct taped the dog.
