Wilma Elaine Scott Obituary

Wilma Elaine Scott, of Tullahoma, passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 at NHC at the age of 86.

Mrs. Scott was born in the Capitol Hill Community in Franklin County to the late Ben and Mary Edith Partin Smith. She worked for over ten years at the Coffee County Health Department as a Registrar and was a member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane where she taught children’s bible class for 31 years. She was known for her beautifully decorated cakes, cake decorating classes, quilting, ceramics, gardening, and canning. She was also a skilled seamstress who made many outfits for her family throughout the years.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but her favorite title was “Gran”. She loved to spend each summer with her grandkids at FamCamp on Woods Reservoir, which was the location of her childhood home, Buncombe. She loved her family fiercely and made sure to gather them together to celebrate any and every occasion with a hot, home-cooked meal. Losing her leaves a void in the lives of her loved ones, but she left a legacy and influence that will be remembered for years to come.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Todd Scott; three brothers, Parker Smith, Boyd Smith, and Gene Smith; and one sister, Diane Mason. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Scott; one son, Jeff (Cindy) Scott; daughter-in-law, Charlena Nobbman; one grandson, Drew (Marissa) Scott; four granddaughters, Whitney Scott, Jordan Scott, Lindsay Scott, and Charleigh Scott; four great-grandchildren, Emery Scott, Avery Scott, Martin Moreau, and Cambry Scott; and five siblings, Maxine Haley, Fred (Linda) Smith, Carolyn Webber, Jimmy (Robbie) Smith, and Nancy (Jeff) Frye.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at New Center Grove Cemetery.
